How to get what you really want out of life

Have you been feeling stuck for a long time now, knowing that you want change but just don’t know what to do next?

Ok, there is only one reason that you can’t figure out what you want to do next and that is fear.  

What I find is that we usually do know what we need to do next but we are fearful of whether it will work out, whether we will be good enough or if we will fail.

So what I want you to imagine is that I can take all of your fear away – just for a moment, put it away into a box. 

Now ask yourself – if I wasn’t fearful what would I do next?

It is probably something like – hand my notice in, leave my relationship, create the website for my business, BUT doing these things feels scary because of the six key happiness blocks which are all related to fear.

These are:

  • The fear of the unknown
  • The fear of being good enough 
  • The fear of being wrong
  • The fear of being judged 
  • The fear of failure 
  • The fear of change

These are all part of my six-step happiness reset

I’m going to give you five quick ways to reset right now so that you can overcome fear and actually be honest with yourself about what you want to do.

1: Stop trying to figure out what you don’t know and focus on what you do know.

This just means, write a list of what you do know you want, seeing it in black and white will be more evidence that you do know

2: If you can’t do that, write a list of what you don’t want.

I.e I don’t’ want to be in a job where I have to stay late, for example, this will lead you to what you do want – what I want is freedom and flexibility 

3: Start with focusing on what brings you joy.

Write a list of when you are at your happiest and ask yourself how much of that is alive in your life right now. If its not do more of that

4: Ask yourself if you can’t fail, what would you do next?

Write all the things down and then number them in priority order.

5: Take number one and write down all the reasons why you’re not doing what you need to do to make that a reality.

Looking at these and addressing them head-on will help you to find solutions to them.
