3 Mistakes Life Coaches Make When Choosing Their Training

It was 2016 and many coaches were getting in touch with me asking me to coach them because they could see the success I had created with my online business in Ibiza and they wanted to create the same success. Many of them felt like giving up and I saw that they had all made the 3 same mistakes life coaches make when choosing their training.

I believe that the world is a better place the more coaches we have in it, so I created my own, world class training so that life coaches could find success and not make the same mistakes. I talk about the three common mistakes life coaches make when choosing their training in this 1.40 minute video.

Watch it now by clicking below.

If you’re serious about becoming a successful life coach, it’s important that you look for these three important elements in your training and don’t make the 3 mistakes life coaches make when choosing their training:

1: An extended learning period:

I know it can be tempting to want to fast track your way there and there are many 3 day courses online that cost very little money (or even 8 to 12 week courses) but this is about changing people’s lives. If you want to get the best results for people it requires an extended learning so that you have the time and space to learn, grow and become the best that you can be. Please don’t make the mistake of thinking that you can learn this skill overnight, there is much more to it than you may realise.

2: One-to-one mentoring:

How will you ever know that you are coaching well if no one is listening to your coaching. There are many courses out there that teach you the skill but they don’t offer the one-to-one support that helps you gain confidence in your coaching ability, so that you feel ready to get yourself out there. I have had many different mentors myself over the years and each one has helped me elevate my coaching which means better and faster results for my clients.

3: Business training:

You can be the best coach in the world but if you do not know how to market yourself you won’t be in business and it will just be a hobby. You must know how to promote and sell your new skills so that you know how to speak to and find clients. The course that I completed in 2010 didn’t include any business training and I spent a few years trying and failing to figure it all out for myself, which is why my 12-month, advanced ICF accredited certification is as much a business launch course as it is life coach training.

I know that it can be overwhelming looking for the right life coach certification course or even to be sure that becoming a life coach is right for you which is why I offer a free 30-minute ‘Is it right for me?’ call where I give you the chance to have all of your questions answered so that you have the clarity and direction you need to make the right decision.
